Im going to be autocrossing my '69 911S soon, its almost finished and sorted.

The car has full track setup suspension, track wheels and tires and a 2.6 MFI engine good for perhaps 220hp.

It has the 901 trans which I understand is weak on first gear and has mainshaft weaknesses. I am adept at heel and toe and I double clutch all my downshifts. I can downshift smoothly into first gear but have not been doing it in "anger" just for the heck of it.

So.... pushing hard in an autocross that is sure to use first and second gears the most and require downshifts to first followed by hard power.... how long should I expect my 901 to last?
