Trial lawyers typically take on cases on a contigency basis. That is to say that if they don't win, they don't get paid. That's a risk of a lot of time and effort to not get a cent. Then when their client wins they typically get around 40% of the win. Leaving their client with 60%. Granted I think those numbers are a bit out of whack but I don't take the risk that trial lawyers do with their livelyhood. I don't get paid or not based on the success of my day at work. If I fail at work one day I still get paid for it.
Granted I'm generalizing and I know THAT will get torn apart for sure but...whatever.
