How full was your oil tank? My first guess would be based on the smoke you describe is that when you jacked up the rear of the car oil ran into the hose that runs from the oil tank to the air box and when you started the car the intake sucked up a bunch of oil . Take the cover off your air filter housing and look around. Also pull your plugs and see if they are oil soaked. You should have only two hoses on your cruise control. One is a vacumm hose (the smaller of the two) and the other one is just a breather hose.
