I gladly avoid taxes (note - the more oppressive the tax coding, the more people avoid taxs; the more equitable the tax system the more people don't mind paying)...I would hope (though I doubt) you would not vote my money out of my pocket. It smacks of elitism and fascism, it is intolerant and defies the idea of "pro-choice."
Not only that, but there is no proof, despite the myriad attempts, that higher taxation does anything but subjugate the productive and encourage the indolent's indolence.
If you remember, Bill Clinton saw the economy smoking during his administration, in fact he said it was "overheating"....His response to slowing down the smoking economy was to raise taxes...This brought about the Clinton recession...Just like when Bush senior raised taxes, the economy faltered.
