You'd be amazed how many pilots are afraid of heights.
It only bothers me when I can see thru the floor (helicopters) or upside down above FL410 looking up at the ground.
Last time I did that was in 1978 in an F4N.
For some reason I can look out the window at the ground 9 miles down without any problem. But at the top of the mast on my boat (70 feet off of the deck) my knees go.
