Check out building the roof without trusses. Trusses are cheaper, as the ^ sections come pre-built and are hoisted up with a crane. They will have a bottom joist __ that the ceiling is attached to. The problem is the V sections in between. You lose all that open floor space!

If you use large enough floor joists and large enough roof rafters - you can use all that space up there for storage or whatever. A room that size has a lot of potential, but then again the big screen TV and leather chair and built-in bar could get expensive..
