eeh
no
we got left lane nerds here too, and lot's of em
difference being that it just results in agrevated drivers that
tailgating within 3 meters or less at speeds up to 140 km/h or more, like you guys see when watching NASCAR with the added effect of flashing the high beams to indicate that you want the other one to move over
right side overtaking ( or leftside for the UK folks)
all this ... even in the rain... and i'll admit , when i was driving for my work , doing 100 000 km + a year ... somehow i developped a "road warrior" mode...
it's basically a switch that turns on automatically when you get in your car for another 100 km + driver to get to the workplace...
results in :
- basically not beeing sane when driving
- breaking any speedlimit you see
- right side overtaking
- tailgating at speed ( had a crappy car renault megane 1.8 diesel, no turbodiesel , tailgating gave me 20 km/h top speed .. just had to look for a big bimmer and follow him) less speeding tickets , since the camera can't get the second car....
- actually timing yourself on exits, to see if you can break your own record on one of the big exits with a highspeed turn in it , or a low speed one....example : 100 km turn , wet tarmac...enter it at 160, in a FWD car, then say , feck... i had to slow down to 130 .... damned road designers it's gonna take me another 20 secs to get back up to speed
- beeing able to get to work at 5 in the morning, and beeing in trance most of the drive..."how did i get here?!?!'
- racing with fellow comuters , same company car determines your class... beating a better car improves your rank, pulling off a high speed trick gives your fame ( think 360 spin in the rain coming out of a fancy turn see the selftiming thing above )
- when at work.. speeding tickets .. keeping score on the whiteboard who has the most of em...having a cop to stop you and bull****ting your way out of the ticket= braggin rights
- wrecking the suspension of the company car on country , rally roads...then then blowing up the engine of the replacement car after 4 days( they gave me a ford fiesta 1300cc which wasn't up to the job, and probably had some maintenance problem... the lack of maintenance i mean).. then complain to your manager about the crappy lease cars you got.. demand a bimmer cause the french cars suck( i got an Audi A4 which was sweet)...
- basically all the stuff you guys do at the track...and more...
for the record, i live at 5 minutes from my work now
and the road warrior mode has been discontinued
leftside driving is actually something you can get a fine for in most Euro countries, but only in Germany do they actually strictly enforce it because of the no speed limits(and the germans beeing a bit anal when it comes to rules and procedures

)
