New Porsche Prices - Little or Lots of "Wiggle Room" for Dealers?
I'm entertaining the possibility of a 997. I haven't bought new for a while and haven't been able to shake a bit of a "cheap and used" feeling since the last time. Last go around I managed to move the dealer a tad, but not as much as I would have liked. I think that I ended somewhere around $5 grand less than MSRP.
I like to view myself as a savy negotiator. I know, it's part of that whole male self-denial thing that has us all of us thinking that we are capable of dealing any dealer out of his shorts while simultaneously bedding his receptionist. But I digress.
I admit to feeling a bit intimidated at the Porsche dealership - at least on the topic of price negotiation on new cars. I've felt the same way shopping Mercs and even Acuras. On the other hand - I have zero problem playing Attila with a Ford dealer.
There's lots of stories about blah and blah and the art-of-war from armchair Enzo buyers, but what are the real world truths out there?
How much have you (or those close to you) been able to move a Porsche dealer off MSRP on a new car?
