I agree with respect to 'normal' porsches, perhaps the quick acceleration impression comes from the 930.

The Cayenne Turbo was faster than a (well driven) Boxster S around the Nurburgring. And the Boxster S is probably faster than most of our cars, sorry, though I don't wish I had one.
