I'm not sure any car should be raced as hard as possible from 0-60 on a continual basis. I don't think anyone said the Porsche is slow from 0-60, it's just not the fastest. In all, it's splitting hairs. A 2004 GT3 is approximately as fast as a Viper GTS, Corvette Z06, or Ferrari Stradele Modena 360. I think the Viper and Corvette can handle the abuse of 0-infinity launches better than the Ferrari or Porsche - hard launches are where those cars accel. The Ferrari and Porsche, on the other hand, will probably out handle the American cars, and also out brake them. That's why all four cars are well-suited to race against one another. One has a talent the other may not have, and vice-versa.
As for the Cayenne, I think we all have to face the reality of engineering advancing much farther than our wallets can advance our dollars. I haven't paid much attention to the Cayenne, but from what I've read on this thread, it seems like a beast of a car that can do everything well and carry four or more people at the same time. All I can add to that is it's about time Porsche marketed an SUV. They were losing a lot of market share because they had no SUV in their lineup. As for it's power and handling prowess - well, what did anyone expect; that Porsche would build a slug?
I think street racing is a good place to fall out of love with your car. You can either wreck it or be humiliated by the other driver because of a variety of ulterior things like traffic, knowledge of the road, or more importantly, a mismatch in horsepower from one guy's car to the next. If you really want to see where everything measures up, it's going to have to be on a track.
