I just finished my first good tank of gas since having all the work done on my 944 (first one without being stuck in traffic, that is) I'm getting a shade under 25 MPG in my '88 NA, this is all off-highway driving but fairly quick (50-60 MPH) and few stops. Is this good? I swear I was getting better mileage when I first got the car. I'm running Chevron supreme and the only mod to my car that I am aware of is an Autothority chip and shifter. I ditched the K&N 'cause I don't like 'em.
Is it possible a nasty old fuel filter could actually help mileage?
I'm not really obsessing about it but I do think MPG is a good sign of state of tune. For instance, my Stude is getting about 10 MPG which I think means the carburetor is f**ked up

(that's the technical term for it.)
