everybody (especially the conservatives) are hot on "national security". Wouldn't you want your "best and brightest" to head the CIA, and not some party flunkie politician? This guy seems like a backward yes-man. These are different times. If you don't understand the technology and cultures, you don't belong in a decision-making position. I see this problem all the time...people verging on luddite status who are in positions that require stratetic decisions. And since they don't understand the fundamental drivers and the implications, they make piss poor choices.
Then blame them on someone else. But that's what the political experience is good for...
I will grant you that there are some smart people in the admin, even if I don't agree with all their decisions. But this one smells bad to me.
