Maybe I'll talk about the edge a little more at another time...
Here I'll just stick to the Rolling Stones...awhile back I had an argument with CurtisAA about the Stones...I contend that after Altmont they became a Show Business Band...they came right up against the reality of the edge at Altmont and that was murder...

The Stones had just performed Sympathy for the Devil and were into Under My Thumb when it happened.. a black man pulled a gun and was beaten to death by the Hells Angels....The Stones didn't perform Sympathy for 5 years after that. I love that crazy little Samba..

Another fav of mine of the Stones is Gimme Shelter....it was written by Keith at a time when he started to chip at Heroin, Brian Jones was passed out most of the time and Mick Jagger was fooling around with Keith's girl friend Anita Pallenburg on the set of Performance.... Mary Clayton the backup vocalist had a miscarriage after recording the song...it just sums up how I have felt most of my life...
