Guys, even in electric chassis Tamiya stuff with standard motors, RWD is a serious handful and you'll torch some treads in no time, but electric cars are a good way to start. Keep away from Nitro for as long as you can. Ed's right... it's like a narcotic. I'm not a fume-sniffer kind of guy, but I friggin' love the smell of these little nitro cars at WOT.

I also run several 4WD electric 1/10 scale cars and they will wreck a set of slicks or street tyres in only a few runs. Even with slicks, they're massively overpowered. I have an 11T motor, which will do donuts until the battery is flat with sticky compound rubber. I once removed the front drivebelt to try some RWD fun and the thing was totally uncontrollable. Couldn't even get moving without a donut or ten. :P

My 1/10 gas car has a modified motor and a 2-speed trans, so the bottom end is crazy and the top end just keeps on winding. Top speed? I dunno, maybe 60mph...
