I'm gettin ready to buy an 86 944 Turbo.
I've had a couple of 944T and I currently have an 944S2 and a 911. IMO the Turbos are more problematical as you say than the N/A 944s. The Turbo's have a greater tendency to blow head gaskets than N/A ones. (I've never heard of a N/A blowing a head gasket.) It seems like the Turbo's rubber parts (hoses, motor mounts) have a shorter life. Perhaps it's the extra heat in the engine compartment or maybe it's my imagination. Turbos _are_ a blast though.
