Okay...Bush has gone far far left compared to the Republican party of even Reagan...With all politicians we force them to the middle. In order to compromise, unfortunately, you have to sell-out to the populist message and therefore populism wins...we slowly move to a bigger and bigger, more intrusive, oppressive government that breeds corruption because of the size of the trough.

Hate to break it to ya bro...Christians 10x as fundamental found this country and layed the groundwork to what you see around you. It is the socialist creep that has taken away freedoms, not Christianity. I incessantly hear moderates and liberals evoke this boogey-man of "Christians controlling me," which I find utter nonsense.
Give me the example of a "right-wing" Christian shoving their beliefs down your throat...Never has a Christian group threatened a lawsuit to take the pagan goddess Pomona (the prominent image on the seal) from the L.A. County seal...But we have the ACLU attacking the cross on the seal...We have the ACLU suing the Boy Scouts because they don't agree with homosexual extremists vision of the Boy Scouts...We have liberals demonizing productivity and forcibly removing tax-payer's hard-earned monies from their wallets...under threat of imprisonment no less.
Embryonic stem cell research?....No empirical evidence supports this theoretical postulation...Yet, Bush has allowed it (mind you the first President EVER).
Abortion rights?...You mean the right to kill an unborn child?...Roe never had an abortion and there is no evidence of improvement since the activist Judges allowed these judges to violate the Constitution...That said, I have yet to see a Republican take away a woman's "right" to kill her child.
Homosexual "marriage"?....The American people have spoken loudly and a majority don't want it...The only ones bringing this to issue is the ultra-left "shove it down your throat" liberals...who know the American people don't want it and so they VIOLATE the Constitution AGAIN in order to shape the society into the warped shape they desire.
