Burnin', did I say I was "good?" 99.9% of us seem to have no trouble noticing the sliver in someone else's eye, but real trouble seeing the beam in ours. I have my favorite sins. I don't point my finger at homosexuals and women who have had abortions, and I don't wish for revenge for 9/11. But I do have other sins, most definitely. So, I'm not suggesting that I can earn my way to Heaven on points.
Still, I seem to have a fairly easy time noticing the irony of people who think they are pleasing God, while pointing their fingers at others. I'm kind of hyper-sensitive to it. I've seen it absolutely caricaturized in my family life.
So, if you're suggesting I make sure not to miss my own sinfulness, I gotcha covered there big guy. If you spent a month with me, and you never criticized anyone, then neither of us would. But if you start going off on someone else's Godless behavior, I'll probably let you have it.
