From my experience a clicking solenoid is a sign the starter is not getting enough juice. I would remove and clean the battery terminals inc. large ground straps (is there one under your car by the tranny?), make sure the battery has water and is charged. If that still doesn't work try jump starting w/ another car/battery. It still may be the starter but my bet is in the battery.
