Note that the article also states that W doesn't list it in his biography unlike someone else who got some rice in his butt from playing with explosives. I agree with Kurt on this, he probably put it on at someone else's advice because the unit did earn it during the mid 60's and that kind soul probably thought he should be wearing it too. This one looks like an honest mistake by a young brown bar.
