I always find it interesting that so many people try to pin this on islam even though their own religion, christianity, has a much darker past.

We don't even have to go that far back in history. How many people did the christian citizens of germany send to their graves?

Regardless of what their motives are, slaughter of innocents..particularly women and children...will not earn them popularity or sympathy. Those who would commmit such crimes are animals and should be dealt with as such. If the moderates (if there are any) don't do something quick, they will also get caught up in worldwide destruction of islamic countries by those who will not take this barbarism any longer. That is why it is so important that we don't let petty dicatators like Saddam thumb their noses at the civilized world and reward the families of terrorist suicide bombers and hijackers with large sums of cash. It only makes us appear weak. Even now, foolish people in this country take to the streets to defend these criminals. Wait until a group starts shooting children in the back in a US school...they will get the message. Hopefully it will not be too late. Hopefully it willl be their kids, not mine.
It is funny how we go to the theater and watch a movie like Independence Day and cheer for Will Smith to kill every last alien that wants to dominate the world and kill every creature on earth that is not like them....yet make excuses for humans that have the same goals. The humans are far worse...they are one of us.
