Ok, I'll bite.
Being a conservative, I have no problems with conservative judicial appointments as the liberal appointees have made it a point to "find" rights that aren't expressly spelled out and to make law from the bench usurping the role of the legislature. That's just the tip of that iceberg.
I'm voting for Bush because of a couple of things. First off, he's far more conservative than Kerry/Malpractice Edwards. Second, I don't like Kerry's voting record in the Senate on nearly every vote I've read up on. I'm pro Life, Kerry is pro Death for inconvenient children. Third, Kerry cozied up to the North Vietnamese government while we were still at war with them. In any other time, this would have been considered treason and resulted in either jail or execution. Kerry skated because of liberals controlling the country and Kerry was thier golden boy, still is. Kerry is pro gun control. Don't bother with his rehtoric, look at how he votes, he's left of Kennedy, Feingold, et al.
What I like about Bush- he makes a decision and sticks with it and isn't blown around by the focus group de jour. That means he is guaranteed to be unpopular with somebody all the time. He's loyal to his people, loyalty is a quality sadly lacking in modern society. I like the fact he had the wheaties to stand up to SH, regardless of the WMD (a red herring) issue. Bottom line is SH violated the Cease Fire repeatedly and was still actively seeking more weapons of all types. That's why our "allies" got so mad, France, Germany, Russia, China and others were on the take with the Oil for Food scam. With allies like these, just who IS our friend? All this was happening prior to 9/11, so it isn't a new thing. SH has been documented in supporting terrorists, not 9/11 mind you, but with Abu Nidal and other connections, he had to be removed. Remeber that W said we will hunt down and punish the terrorists and the countries that support them. Wonder why NK, Iran, and others howled about that? I think they protesteth too much.
To be fair, what I don't like about Bush- our borders need to be sealed from all illegal immigration. This won't happen because of fear of offending the Hispanic vote, but they vote heavily D anyway so what's the problem W, they ain't voting for you! There are elements of NAFTA I don't like, like no protection against dumping by foreign competitors, resulting in loss of US jobs.
Overall, neither candidate is perfect, just that I think W comes out waaay on the positive side. As I see it, it's Hanoi John and the Malpractice Kid or W, the guy who does what he says on national security.
