Redoing mine right now. Be prepared for the unexpected if you didn't build the house yourself. My kitchen wall was made of only drywall with no studs! So I had to build a stud wall and drywall that. Not to bad but unexpected. The electrical boxes look like spagetti. Seems like the whole house is wired through each box.
I bought the "Mills Pride" cabinets from Home Depot. I am very impressed with the quality and design. Very easy to assemble and clear instructions. I am having a friend cut the corian for the counter tops. The floor is tile but I'm thinking of with Pergo.
I only wanted to put in new cabinets and paint. Now I have a chefs pass through, and 3ft wider entrance, New sink, stove, frig, and dish washer (all stainless). Just like with Porsches, one project leads to 3 more.
