The stock pump is 28 years old and rather noisy. It works fine, although occasionaly the pitch of the noise will change and I will see a change in fuel pressure. I am also having trouble maintaining constant psi using the clamp on the return line. I end up adjusting the clamp every few days. I am replacing the pump as a preventive measure. Don't want to get stranded somewhere.

Does the holley red have to be mounted in the engine compartment or can it be mounted near the tank in the stock location?
