Dude, we . . .the US have been, in large part, responsible for keeping a lid on Saddam! If Saddam had been left to his own we would be remebering the
good ol days when OPEC controlled the flow.
The cost of
trying to keeping a lid on Saddam became too much for us, and the average Joe Iraqii. . . as Saddam was doing what he could to circumvent the sanctions, for his own pleasure.
