Speaking of nasal, I just read David Brooks' piece today, and liked it. His point was basically that Kerry is indeed tightening up his message and trying to be/look decisive. The problem is that he's backed himself into a corner. Not necessarily with what he's said in the past (which is also no help) but because his "final message, now with conviction" just riles up many factions of the divided party, no matter what that message is. It's worth a read.
