It's still BS. I simply cannot believe that the number of vintage cars on the road makes this legislation worthwhile. Why not require lawnmower companies (weed wackers, lawn tractors, chainsaws, etc.) to clean up their BRAND NEW motors and leave my vintage Porsche alone. Why not the ten zillion power boats? Are motorcycles really not covered in the smog laws? If that's true, I'm doubly irritated.

How about explaining to me why, here in California, there are more SUV's with huge (gas slurping) wheels and tires than there are back East where there actually is, ahem, snow and ice periodically?

I wonder how many solo-driver SUV's there are in the family of that legislator that proposed this law.
