Unfortunately, Arnold has rapidly succumbed to the same bureaucratic forces as every other politician, signing ludicrous anti-gun and anti-car legislation, not living up to his promises to save our schools which are still struggling with massive budget shortfalls, and not passing a balanced state budget by the legal deadline.

He is now part of the "Borg collective mind" that is our government. Yawn, same "stuff" different day. So now Arnold drives around in an armored Hummer that probably gets 6mpg for chrissakes and is surrounded by private security forces with who-knows-what kind of "banned" firearms, smokes cigars, and yet he is in the process of reviewing and possibly signing bills that will arbitrarily ban the populace from freely buying or using certain products.

As a native Californian, it pains me to think about moving away, but if the landslide into socialist hell continues then I will have to seriously consider it. I certainly don't feel the need to pay large sums each year to be "protected" from other law-abiding citizens who might happen to buy something that the government deems is not good for me, while meanwhile all of us can freely buy other products (i.e., cigarettes and alcohol) that are protected from meaningful legislative controls due to megabuck lobbies and yet kill FAR more people each year than the objects of these BS bills our elected officials are passing.

Fortunately, as long as our Hollywood Elite denizens are car fiends, I do not think absolute bans of classic cars will occur. However, the privilege to drive classic autos will more and more become the domain of the rich and well-connected. And, of course, as we have seen repeatedly in other areas, corruption and black-market economics will take over. Bribes, faked smog checks, forged titles, out-of-state plates, you name it. Plus, the continued exodus of many upper-income people to other states/countries. Meanwhile the gub'mint loses out on substantial revenues but keeps on smiling because they're saving us from hurting ourselves by forcing us to drive a new Toyota Prius instead of a 1979 911.

I betcha that California will be the first state in the Union to ban gasoline, and that it will not occur terribly far into the future!
