GWB is in a lose lose on this one, if he continues his current line people criticize him, yet if he admits that he was wrong he'll be criticized even more. Given the intelligence he was presenty by all the various intelligence agencies both foreign and domestic, and given Saddam's history, I think I would have made the same decision he did. What Bush needs to do is simply state that the intelligence was wrong, and his plan to prevent it from happening again.

Presidents are faced with tough decisions everyday based on information they recieve from intelligence and their advisors. What would happen if we hadn't acted against Saddam and there was a terrorist attack on the US involving weapons traced back to Saddam? All of this intelligence would have been brought to light and Bush would be rightly criticized for inaction. I'd rather err on the side of security and be wrong about the weapons than have the reverse be true. I give the president a pass on this one because there are plenty of other good reasons for removing Saddam.
