Gosh, I'd really like to have a discussion like this but a few guys trying to have a productive discussion while the bulk of posters are deflecting, is just a recipe for frustration. Bottom line is that solving the kinds of problems we need to solve right now through our elected representatives is somewhat more complex than the deflections and sound bites that we're feeding to the electorate. I too wish Kerry and the democratic party would come out with a platform. I'd disagree with whoever said Kerry's position runs contrary to that of the American people. Indeed, this country appears to be roughly evenly divided, and in fact the liberal candidate received the majority of votes last time we went through this circus we call a "presidential election." I'd argue that the majority of Americans do in fact embrace much of the philosophy of the liberal party. And again, I hope that Kerry comes out swinging in terms of the fundamental differences between the conservative method of public administration versus the liberal model. But here, I've probably said too much. I'll check back to see who I've insulted this time.
