I have a buddy who is about to buy (possibly) a 85 black 944 for $1500 plus tax and tags.
All appearances say it is a dog. Not really cared for. Dealer says new headgasket (belts should have been done then) and friend says it drives good. Wires running everywhere inside. Trashed seats and carpet. Hatch doesnt lock/shut. and on and on. (I personally wouldn't give more than $500 for it).
I have yet to check it out but I told him if the mechanicals are right it could be worth it. (I am highly suspect though.)
Anyone in Florida got one that might be a bit better on the cheap.....?
He can probably go closer to $2000 if necessary.
