It's VITAL that we vote YES on Proposition 62 (open primaries). The idea is that everyone can vote for any candidate in any party. So candidates will have an incentive to be more moderate, because their positions must appeal to the voters, when compared not only to those of the other party's candidate, but to the positions of other candidates
of their own party as well.
It won't repeal this rolling exemption cancellation, but a yes on 62 will encourage the wackos like Lieber to reconsider their idiotic positions. I believe that even the most left-leaning among us can appreciate the need for more moderates in the Legislature.
