Frank, there are arrows on the shock body to tell you which way to turn. Of course, you cant see those unless you take the shock insert out of the strut tube. You don't have to do that. But, it is my understanding that if you were to have the shock in your hands, you would hold the shaft in a vise or with a pair of pliers and rotate the shock housing in the direction you want according to the arrows.

< soft-firm >, but that could be backwards.

As was mentioned, going all the way soft and then counting 1/4 turns, you can dial them up. There are about 2 1/4 turns total, IIRC.

So, if you happen to have a spare, or someone here can look, the arrows and their respective adjustment can be verified. I have an extra set, but I can't get to them right now to look.
