How heroic is it to campaign for your own affliction?
Your child gets killed by a lawn dart, and suddenly that's the #1 danger to children everywhere. You develop Parkinson's, and now it's a National emergency.
People are selfish. Just once I'd like to see someone dying of Cancer campaigning for AIDS research.
Don't get me wrong, I think Christopher Reeve's was a great guy. I was also hoping for a cure, and rooting for him. But I don't buy the Hero thing. Hero's help other people, not themselves. If he hadn't been paralyzed, do you think he'd be out campigning for a cure?
I'm sad to hear he passed on. I'm sad for his wife and family.
