Island? Have you ever searched the roots of the word "plan"? A long term pen pal via snail mail often repeats that it originates from the days of the french prison, devil's island. The cons there had "plans"...hollowed out sections of bamboo they would stuff into their colons in order to conceal whatever their "plans" contained... I have absolutely no idea whether or not this is true. Somehow, this thread reminds me of that tale...
