Al Gore's Presidential Legacy

Thanks to Al Gore, elections in the United States have forever changed. There will never again be an uncontested election. Rather than standing down like Nixon did (in an even closer race against Kennedy) for the good of the country, Gore and his army of trial lawyers put themselves ahead of their country. So now the legacy begins ......

The Democrats - with their hoardes of trial lawyers - have already begun to lay the ground work for a messy election. Yesterday, just 2 blocks from my office in Bay City, Clinton-appointed Liberal Federal Judge David Lawson made an incredibly stupid ruling. In essence, it says that a Michigan voter can show up anywhere they want and their vote for President and Congress must be counted - although their vote for State, local and ballot initiatives won't count . This, less than 2 weeks before the election. Of course, election officials have no idea how to implement the law in that short period. But that was the goal of the Democratic Party and the NAACP who filed the suit.

But why file it in the little town of Bay City? Why not the State capital of Lansing? Or the State population center of Detroit? Well, that would be risky because there are both conservative and liberal judges on those benches! And the Dems didn't know who would be picked to hear their case ...... in Bay City - the Eastern District - there's a Clinton-appointed Democratic lap dog - Lawson! Hmmmmmm ..... let's file the suit there!

So now, it is entirely possible to vote twice for President. Once in your own Precinct and again whereever you show up. There is no mechanism to check for double votes. How could there be? The Dems purposely filed the suit just prior to the election to get this result. I'm sure they've got the lawsuits already written and ready to file as soon as the polls close. The fun is just beginning ......

BTW: Bush leads Kerry 47 to 43 in Michigan as of today - a traditionally heavy union-supported Democratic State.
