Exactly why I put #4 in the list...
Really shocking how much we throw away. It would be nice to have a modern return to the homesteading movement like in the early-mid '70s. I grew up for the first few years on a house/acrage my parents built/developed themselves in rural Pennsylvania. It was pretty awesome to learn about things from that perspective, I've tried to keep a lot of that spirit with me as I've moved around all over the country and finally came to rest in SoCal.
The first thing I ever drove was a Ford 8N tractor.
