It seems that man overpoopulation is destroying the planets ability to regenerate itself...we are using too many of it;s resources to quickly
Overpopulation is not pivotal as an emerging issue. 80% or something of the world's population is already deprived of adequate access to food and water on a daily basis. It's the remaining 20% that are the real threat to the planet.

Millions of starving people is sub-saharan Africa have little or no impact on any conditions relating to the sustainability of the planet. They are born, they live a meagre existance and they die. The planet hardly notices that they were even here.

On the other hand, consider the impact that those in the economically developed nations, particularily North America have on the planet.
These people are born and chew up ten times more of the earth's resources in their life time than the planet is capable of renewing. At the same time they introduce tons of toxic and greenhouse gases and chemicals into the water, soil and atmosphere of the planet.

Overpopulation is an issue - just much less of an issue in context of emerging/expanding threats to the viability of the planet and our way of life. It's the people with low levels of reproduction that are screwing up the planet - not the prolific breeders.
