The standard k26 turbocharger uses what's called a "#6" hot side (has to do with the size of the turbine wheel). The later Turbo-S models used a #8 (slightly larger) hot side which trades spool-up speed for the ability to hold boost at higher RPM, consequently boosting the max. rated H.P. from 217 to 247, IIRC. A common mod for guys with 951s is to retrofit their k26/6 turbos with #8 hot sections, effectively making them k26/8 turbos and basically the same as a Turbo-S.
