Hey all, Anyone live in/around Mobile Alabama?

My wife is looking at a possible job transfer/ promotion there and honestly we know absolutely nothing about the area.
Any info would be cool; real estate, schools, good areas (assuming downtown commute), and of course the really important stuff like taxes, tags, inspection info for the cars as well as Porsche group/club activity levels.
