Bush has now got a mandate from the American people to do whatever he thinks is prudent...This ultimately means that American s approve of the policy of preemption. They have said with their vote that they don't care what the rest of the world thinks.. In efffect anyway

Now consider this for the next 2 years Bush has the leverage in the Congress to get almost anything he wants through. After that if he is too unpopular the Repblicans will lose some of the congress back to the Democrats. At that time many of his programs will be well on their way to frutiition and he can sit back and manage them while he awaits his retirement to Crawford or points unknown... U see there is no leverage that can now be applied to Bush, he has now faced his last election and it's full steam ahead...for his agenda...
