I'm willing to be proved wrong on this (not that I really have a point to prove), but I don't believe the definition of a fast car should be limited to how well it goes in a straight line (unless it's a land speed record attempt or a drag racer). Remember the urban legend about the guy who strapped a jet engine onto the back of his pickup truck and accellerated at over 300mph into a hillside...?
