One's tolerant and accepting of people (love thy enemy and all of that), the other wants to kill infidels... hmm...
I've known a lot of new age, fundamentalist, evangelical Christians and yes I am afraid of their brand of "love" which seems to be really misplaced, narrow and intolerant. It's based mostly on the Letters and very little on the Gospels. What bothers me about this group is that their view of God is very small, insultingly so really, that they place too many human characteristics on their version of God.

When they push their flawed version of God on others, it's a real problem for me.

And you only need to look at the Constitution and the mindset of the framers, what they ran from and fought for, to know that we are in real trouble if the trend continues.

I do see why people voted the way they did given the moral decay of our culture. I've been working on launching G9Girl for the past 5 months, a line of clothing and accessories for tween and teen girls. Having seen the whore-based lines of clothing out there and doing a lot of market research on these audiences, we have good reason to challenge the current social climate.

Faith-based initiatives are important to turn the tide, but they will reach only so many people and can only go so far.

Our primary goal with G9Girl is not to start yet another clothing line, but to actually give girls an alternative to: boys, sex, drugs... anything that ultimately pulls down self-esteem. We are creating an education-based, support infrastructure, one in which girls learn about business by running their own in an Avon-type model, and having fun while doing it. With this comes community, girls helping girls, increased self-esteem, pride in ownership, and achievement, and everything that goes along with these concepts like being better prepared for the future, getting into a better college, having more options in life, not relying on men for self-esteem, etc. Ask yourself: would you rather have your teen daughter learn mentoring, communication skills, leadership skills, business skills, what it takes to be an independent, thinking individual or one that worries about what to wear so the boys in school will look at her.

The messages in teen magazines are terrible and confilcting these days. Teens have no role models. We want to provide those role models, and then make teens role models themselves.

We think this is a better way to change the country. If just one girl goes to college who otherwise wouldn't, or gets into a better school, or just doesn't let herself get pressured into a bad situation, we will call it success. Of course the real goal is for a movement to form organically. Too big? Perhaps, but you can just go to work everyday, scowl at the news and hope things will get better some day.

Clearly I could go on forever, but I hope you've seen my point.
