"Just wondering. What was Tim McVeigh's persuasion?"
Not having met Tim but based on what little I know about the whack job group he was associated with, I'll say Christian. And that proves exactly what? There is a difference here. McVey did not claiming to be "following Jesus' commands." Nor did he try to justify up his actions with quotes from the bible. Nor did he have Christians world wide cheering in the streets for what he had done. In fact, the opposie occurred, Christians were quick to state that, he, his group & their activities were horrible twisted distortions of the religion.
Now let's compare that with the actions of the practicioners of the religion of peace. Mad-men (not 1 mad man) world wide kill tens of thousands of innocents, often using their children as bomb delivery vehicles. They are cheered by thousands as heros of islam & denounced by none. The distinction here is so clear even Ray Charles could see it & he's dead & blind. Swing & a miss 911.
