Tabs - you are right on. The Democratic ticket does it's best work in executive offices with moderate candidates and is successful at the local level with more wild-eyed candidates. Which in my opinion is the way is should be for either party as a more wild-eyed candidate for either side will represent the will of less of a majority than a moderate candidate will.

Of course in my opinion if in 2000 the republicans had fielded McCain - Gore would have lost hands down instead of loosing with all the hub-bub he did.

And of course- I would gladly vote for McCain over Bush every day of the week and twice on Sunday.
