Further lightening ideas - heat stuff
So I'm looking over the car tonight, looking for stuff to throw overboard. One item that came to mind was the heat and ventilation controls. For the heater, I would redirect the paper tube that comes out of the heater channel 90 degrees, straight to the footwell area, and cover it with a small grill to keep crap out of it. I would then lose the blower and stuff behind the dash. This would give me rudimentary heat (ala early VW bug), and save some weight. Remember, this beast is now a drive-it-there track car.
Thoughts?
In other news, a set of 935 doors are on their way from Peter @ RennSpeed. I'm hunting down coupe window frames, and will fab my own 935-style windows, as well as rear quarter windows and the back window. I figure the worst I can do is waste some Lexan, and if I botch it, I can suck it up and get a set from $pektre.
