Two cats right now (the grilf is pushing hard for a third as the cat with which she grew up was just put down last week).
They're both Pixie-Bobs. They look like little bobcats -- hair tufts on the ears, very short tails and huge (polydactyl) paws. Everything you might read about their personalities is true -- they're very playful and "dog-like". Not at all distant or aloof like most cats -- in fact, some distance or aloofness might be nice once in a while!

Nobody -- and I mean even the most rabid cat-haters -- that's met them fails to love 'em.
The other (and older) cat's name is Dublin. He's about 14 lbs and maxed-out; Patton is slightly heavier and still growing. They can get to mid-20s w/o too much effort. I really wanted catzilla when I shopped for a breed -- which is all well and good until you're lying on the couch, minding your own business, and one of them jumps onto your stomach (or slightly lower).
It's funny, I look at "normal" cat now and wonder "how do they get around on those tiny little paws? and doesn't that tail get in the way?"
I'll put up a pic of Dublin when I get home tonight.
