I feel bad about my knowledge of US history, I didn't think the US had all that much to do with Prussia.
About WWII, it was truely a world war and no one country won or lost it alone nor could it have been done without all participants. The US can't claim they won the war, nor can anyone else in the world claim they could have done it alone.
On China: I do believe that the Chinese will be the next world super power especially now when Power is measured by your ecomony, there are so many countries that can blow up the earth that the military is being forced out by the power of the dollar, or yen or whatever. But as China picks up steam and develops its infrastructure, they have the people and the resources to do a lot in Design, and manufacturing (low and high-tech). Consider that they have roughly 1.3 billion people who are just now where the 200 million people of the US were in the early forties. But then in the US the manufacturing boom was brought on by war, right now in China the manufacturing boom is being brought on by worldwide greed. It won't be long and China will be the worlds largest importer and consumer of everything. Actually India is ahead of China on education and higher skill jobs but I think China will outpace India in the coming years.
Gas prices are only going to increase as the Chinese machine starts running and cinsuming more and more of these resources.
Just my $0.02.
