Porsche offered all the same options to buyers of both cars . 912 cars tend to be about 200lbs lighter and better balanced . However they are not nearly as fast . Also outside of standard gear ratios the transmissions are exactly the same and are interchangeable . Ive seen 911 cars come without a front sway bar and have seen 912 cars come with them . So it was all reletive to the buyers taste or wallet when ordered new.
