Whatever anyone says in this ridiculous thread, Lendaddy, is by far the most correct. It is vogue to hate America.
But taking this a step farther, if we were the most amiable country in the world - peace-loving, all-welcoming, etc., two things would happen:
1) We'd still be hated for many of the same reasons we are now hated.
2) And we'd probably be attacked just as we were during 9/11.
952: de rigeur is American hatred. Point to anything from Israel to the madness of King George and we're despised for it. But in ten years' time, someone will hate China because of anything from mass production and overpopulation to innovating scroll art. Hell, even New Zealand could be hated because it's the land of hobbits (and in this case, trolls).
FWIW, I know I won't have a taste for all things Kiwi if I eat some bad spring lamb and end up yacking like a violated sheep, but I digress...
Hatred is "in" friend. It's the new desire of the new man. Hatred is in as is, I imagine, rhetorical threads.
