aussie.. youre pretty far off.
64-67 911 and 912 had 3 gauges. 67 up had 5. in all 912 and 911.
68 up it was mandatory that they had headrests by law. 911s didnt have head rests prior to 68 either..
911 came with steel wheels as standard wheels.. so did the 912. fuchs were an option. hell fuchs didnt come along until 67.. and they werent standard on the 911 when they came out either.
and yes.. everything could be optiond. all it took was buying the option.. if you had the money, they would put it on the car for you, no matter what model.
other differences include brakes..911S had S brakes... 912 did not.. ive never heard of anyone buying that option from the factory so if its out there (im sure they would at least be a few who got them on their 912).. well lets just say it would be rare find to have that.
